Tefal, Brinox and Tramontina non-stick pots are safe?
Am I cooking in a pot that is not safe? Should I be more careful?
If you are cooking in with one of the above brands , then you are safe!
Those are premium brands that are safe to use but important to observe some issues better. To start, let us understand the past when a very harmful chemical was being used without proper investigation of its characteristics and the effects on our health.
It all started nearly 80 years ago, when a resin called polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE was discovered completely by accident on 6th April 1938 by DuPont chemist, Dr Roy Plunkett, this was when Teflon started to be used as a non-stick coating on pots and other products. With time and constant health issues related to the PTFE, it was discovered that PFOA, a chemical property of Teflon had a big risk factor for health conditions like chronic kidney disease, liver disease, thyroid disorders, testicular cancers, low birth weight, and infertility. Most manufacturers assumed that PFOA burns off during the process of manufacture, but traces of PFOA were found in some Teflon-coated cookware. Brinox , Tramontina and Tefal are safe to use because they are PFOA free, and Brinox is also BPA free, learn more about this in other posts.
Kodi is a United Arab Emirates brand that promotes healthy cooking in a joint effort with Brazilian Manufacturers.
